Remember when you went to school and every pop song seemed to be stuck in your head even after the first listen? But when it came to studying chemistry or physics, you felt completely empty-headed? Have you ever tried to memorise things by singing? Here's what the Academy will teach you to do!

A school teacher from New Jersey used to set all the important information to the tunes of famous pop songs, and then uploaded the songs to YouTube, so that all her students could listen and learn. By now, numerous teachers from all around the world use the same method to make studying more playful and memorable.

Come and see (and listen!). You, too, could learn something you forgot long ago or never seemed to remember.

Cell phones are one of the most rapidly spreading technological solution in the history of mankind. Logically, talking to others on phone and doing business with them should make you less mobile, as you don't have to actually "go somewhere" to get in touch with someone. However, numerous studies have shown that people who are active mobile phones users, are also more mobile. Why? How?

Rein Ahas, Professor of Geography of University of Tartu and Research Professor of Estonian Academy of Sciences, explains how cell phones affect our behaviour and movement. He's also going to demonstrate how cell phones can be used for research and urban planning.

Doors are open 19-22. Come and check out the colourful, smoking and bubbling chemistry, alongside with fun explanations and even more fun people!

See the laboratories and experiments (at 19.30 and 21) and lots of other interesting things that the staff of Chemicum is currently working on. Be sure to visit our laboratories of experimental psychology as well. We'll mess up your mind, create cool illusions and explain how to measure the things that cannot be seen - that which is going on inside our minds.

Attention! These events are accessible with the RN Special City Bus!
