Innovation Centre INNOKAS invites you to Haapsalu Cultural Centre! A little bit of something for everyone: 3D-printers, gene tests and robots on the exhibition area; science cafes on cat's purr and IT, and a nice space-themed movie. As a special treat, physics professor Jaak Kikas opens his personal photography exhibition "40 photos" at 17.

13.00 "Rocket to America - America to Moon’’, Kaarel Siimut. Meet Kaarel, the star of this season's TV science competinion "Rakett 69"! Ending up on the honourable II place, Kaarel won a week-long trip to Microsoft's global head office in USA (thanks to Skype, HITSA and IT Academy). Come and listen to his impressions and reflections on the journey. What's going to happen next? 

(right after the previous lecture) Indrek Jõgi, Marko Saluste and Laura Leon, the students of IT Systems Development at Estonian IT College talk about the exciting world of information technology. Why did they start to study IT and what kind of opportunities has it given to them? 

16.00 „Why do cats purr?“ – Ivar Vinkel, specialist of vibroacoustics (Institute of Fine Arts, Tallinn University Kunstide Instituut, TERE KK). Purring is something that cats have always been doing, throughout the evolutionary cycle. But why? Demonstrations and sound samples.

17.00 "Does peloid just stink and smear, or is it actually useful?" – dr. Viiu Tuulik (TERE KK). What does peloid (therapeutic mud) consist of and where does its therapeutic effect come from? Peloidresearch in Estonia and the results. What are the current methodologies in peloid research, how do we assess its impact on the human body? Demonstrations of mud therapy and massage.

18.00 „Time in physics and photography" – professor Jaak Kikas (Institute of Physics, University of Tartu). A Next to space, time is one of the main categories of physics that shapes our perecption of world. What are the similarities and differences between "physical" and "photographic" time, and what could the possible future developments be?

19.00 Gene Cafe - Aire Allikas (Development Manager, Gene Tests Laboratory). Our genes and our food. How do they influence each other? How do our genes influence our food consumption and choices? If we were moew knowledgeable about our genes, would we be able to eat healthier?

20.00 Film Cafe– documentary „Spacefiles - The Universe Unveiled“ (York Films of England, 1998: 127 minutes. In English, with Estonian subtitles)
